MgO + PU + MgO Sandwich Panel — Maximum Insulation, Minimum Thickness

Unlike glued assemblies, the polyurethane is foamed directly between the two MgO skins, so it expands, cures and chemically bonds into a single monolithic unit — no glue line, no air gaps, no delamination risk. With a thermal conductivity as low as 0.020–0.024 W/(m·K), PU is the most efficient core we offer: you hit your target U-value with a thinner panel, which means more usable floor area, a lighter structure and lower transport and foundation costs.

Add the inorganic, non-combustible MgO skins on both faces and you get a panel that is at once an insulation layer, a structural sheathing, a fire barrier and a finished substrate — for walls, roofs, floors and temperature-controlled buildings.

Key Features

1. The Best Thermal Value of Any Core We Make With λ as low as 0.020–0.024 W/(m·K), PU outperforms EPS, XPS and rock wool at the same thickness. A 100 mm MgO–PU–MgO panel can match the U-value of a 150 mm EPS panel — thinner walls, more net floor area, lighter structure.

2. Foamed-In-Place Bond — No Glue Line, No Delamination The PU core is injected and foamed directly between the MgO boards. As it cures it bonds chemically to both skins, creating one solid unit with uniform bond strength across the whole face. There is no adhesive layer to age, dry out or fail.

3. Non-Combustible Skins, Fire-Retardant Core Magnesium oxide board is inorganic and non-combustible (Class A). Specify PIR foam and the core delivers enhanced fire performance with low smoke emission, making the assembly suitable for demanding residential, commercial and industrial envelopes.

4. Closed-Cell, Near-Zero Water Absorption Over 95% closed cell structure means the core does not wick water, does not rot and does not lose thermal performance when damp. Combined with moisture-proof MgO skins, the panel is ideal for humid interiors, cold stores and wet-process buildings.

5. Strong, Rigid and Dimensionally Stable High compressive strength and excellent dimensional stability mean the panel resists creep, sagging and thermal movement over decades — even under continuous load or temperature cycling.

6. Exceptionally Lightweight At 35–45 kg/m³ core density, the panel is light enough for fast manual handling and smaller cranes, cutting installation time, transport cost and structural load.

7. Airtight, Gap-Free Envelope A continuous foamed core with factory-controlled tolerances produces a near-airtight building envelope, reducing uncontrolled infiltration and helping the building perform as designed rather than as drawn.

8. Longer Panels, Fewer Joints Continuous lamination allows long-format panels, so a wall or roof can be clad with fewer joints — fewer thermal bridges, fewer air leaks, faster close-in.

9. Moisture and Mould Proof Skins MgO boards do not rot, swell, warp or delaminate and provide no nutrient for mould — a decisive advantage over OSB-, plywood- or gypsum-faced panels in wet and coastal climates.

10. Ready to Finish MgO skins accept render, tile, paint, cladding and wallpaper directly. There is no need for a separate sheathing board, saving a layer of material and labour on every square metre.
